Promote optometry in the Eastern Mediterranean and advocate for eye health as a human right through education, policy, and outreach.
Our Concept
Optometry, an independent healthcare field, involves optometrists who offer holistic eye care, including diagnosis, treatment, and vision correction.

Membership types
▶ Organisations must represent optometrists in a country, or a state with national significance.
▶ Have a written constitution or governing document.
▶ Endorse the EMCO Concept of Optometry.
▶ Be a member of its regional organisation.
▶ Pay the annual fee of US$1000.
▶Membership is open to individual organisations and institutions that represent special optometric interests, but do not satisfy all the conditions of associate memberships.
▶Be a member of its regional organisation.
▶The annual fee for Affiliate membership is US$500 per annum.
▶Please include governing documents of your organization.
▶ If governing documents are not included, the EMCO will contact your region for comment/approval of your application for EMCO membership.
▶Is open to commercial organisations that are not otherwise eligible for Associate or Affiliate membership and have a recognised and approved business relationship with an Associate, Affiliate or Individual member.
▶ Corporate members must endorse the EMCO concept of optometry and support EMCO’s vision and mission.
▶Pay the annual fee of $1000.
▶Open to individual optometrists (as defined by EMCO), vision scientists, faculty, researchers and eye care industry professionals.
▶ Applicants must be members of their national organisation (if one exists).
▶Pay the annual fee of $100.
▶Applicants must currently be enrolled in optometry school.
▶Pay the annual fee of $50.
